Boat House Project
(First Year)

In this 5 week assignment, I had to analyze the concepts of architectural process joint, along with the needs of a rowing team in order to create a boat house. In the design process I focused on the concept of hierarchy. The pin is a small piece that holds the joint together as well as a coxswain to the row team. This translated into having a fluent circulation that controls the movement throughout the house. The division of the house into three segments also translates back to the three individual pieces in the joint and the different steps to get the boat in and out of the water.

Drawings

Smith House Project
(First Year)

The Smith house Project was a case study in which I had to recreate the drawings and elevations of the Smith house. In doing so, I was able to learn about the different concepts of the house, such as continuing pilotis, private space vs. public, and a grid system throughout the house. After drawing the plans, I had to construct a 3-D model in AutoCad that led to rending and adding effects on photoshop.

Observatory Project
(First Year)

In this project, I had to study the urban landscape of Lancaster Avenue in Philadelphia. After finding a void in the landscape, I designed an observatory based on a certain phenomenon. My design was based on shadows. I wanted to show the way shadows can control public circulation. I designed a place that I called The Shadow Garden, where photographers can take pictures and interact with the different shadows throughout the day.

Prada Building

(Second Year)

This assignment was to re-create the Prada Building in Japan. During this project I learned how to use Rhino and how to render using Maxwell.

Row House Project

(Second Year)

In this assignment, we had to create two Row Houses (607-614) using the same concept in Philadelphia. One of the houses was shorter than the other, this showed how valuable space is when designing. The center space of the Row Houses are glass panels that allows light to travel throughout the center of the house.

Apartment Complex

(Second Year)

In the project, I had to design an Apartment Complex in Philadelphia. We had to make micro apartments, a restaurant, lobby, gym and retail areas. The purpose of the project was to design a micro apartment that works efficiently for the user. I designed several apartment rooms to appeal to different conditions throughout the complex.
